Intermediate Cybersecurity Professional Certificate
About Course
Intermediate Cybersecurity Professional Certificate builds directly on foundational security knowledge, moving from core principles into the practical skills used by working security professionals: network defense architecture, penetration testing fundamentals, security monitoring and incident response, governance and compliance, and cloud security.
This course picks up where "Introduction to Cybersecurity Professional Certificate" leaves off, going deeper into how real security teams design defenses, detect and investigate incidents, manage risk and compliance, and secure modern cloud-based systems.
Note: There is no formal prerequisite to enroll, but this course assumes the foundational knowledge covered in Bang Ti Lenydoor’s "Introduction to Cybersecurity Professional Certificate" (the CIA Triad, malware, phishing, authentication, and basic network/system security). Completing that course first, or having equivalent prior knowledge, is strongly recommended.
What You Will Learn
- Design and defend segmented, Zero Trust network architectures and recognize common network-based attacks
- Understand the penetration testing process, reconnaissance techniques, and the OWASP Top 10 web risks within strict ethical and legal boundaries
- Use SIEM concepts, log analysis, and the incident response lifecycle to detect and respond to security incidents
- Apply security governance, risk assessment, and major compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SOC 2) to real organizational decisions
- Secure cloud environments, identity and access management, and modern APIs under the shared responsibility model
- Complete a full simulated security assessment and incident response capstone project
Prerequisites
No formal prerequisite. Completing "Introduction to Cybersecurity Professional Certificate" first, or having equivalent foundational knowledge, is strongly recommended.
