Science & Technology Fundamentals
About Course
Understanding the world you live in
Science and technology touch almost everything in daily life, from the phone in your pocket to the food security of your community, yet many people never get a plain-language introduction to how any of it actually works. This course closes that gap. Across six modules you will build genuine scientific literacy: how to think like a scientist, how energy and machines work, how computers and the internet function, the basics of your own body and disease prevention, core environmental science, and the emerging technologies shaping Africa’s future.
How this course works
Each module pairs a short written lesson with a practical exercise you can do with things around you — no laboratory required. Two checkpoint quizzes help you confirm what is sticking as you go.
The course is self-paced, with roughly ten hours of content in total.
