About Course

Farming knowledge that strengthens communities

Agriculture is central to food security, livelihoods, and community resilience across South Sudan and much of Africa, yet many people never receive structured, practical guidance on how to farm more effectively or reduce the food loss that already-scarce harvests suffer. This course closes that gap. Across six modules you will build practical knowledge: what food security really means, how to care for soil, how to choose and grow crops well, how to manage water and adapt to a changing climate, how to handle and store harvests to avoid loss, and how basic livestock care and value addition can strengthen household income.

How this course works

Each module pairs a short written lesson with a practical exercise you can apply to your own plot, garden, or community. Two checkpoint quizzes help you confirm what is sticking as you go.

The course is self-paced, with roughly nine hours of content in total.
