Online Safety & Cybersecurity Basics
About Course
Most cyberattacks succeed not through advanced hacking, but by exploiting simple, common mistakes — weak passwords, unrecognised phishing emails, or oversharing personal information. This course teaches the practical, defensive basics: protecting your accounts, recognising scams and phishing, securing your devices, and managing your privacy online.
No prior technical background is required. By the end, you will be able to protect your accounts, devices, and personal information far more effectively.
The first four weeks build the fundamentals; the applied modules that follow, account protection, device security, and building lasting habits, are self-paced and typically carry most learners into their second and third month.
